Collaborated with inventor Frank Baldwin to found Monroe Calculating Machine Co. in 1912, producing the first commercial calculator. Monroe also was an original organizing member of Augusta National Golf Club, contributing to the prize money for the inaugural Masters Tournament in 1934.
