Janet Malcolm, ’55

A longtime writer for The New Yorker, Janet Malcolm’s pieces included profiles, book reviews, and critical looks at how other journalists worked. She got her start at the Michigan Daily and the Gargoyle, where she served as managing editor; her Gargoyle parody of The New Yorker won widespread praise. Her first husband was writer Donald Malcolm, ’54.
