There’s a reason Crisler Center is known as “The House That Cazzie Built.” Men’s basketball played at Yost Field House before Russell generated so much enthusiasm that Crisler was built. He led U-M to three conference crowns before a professional career spanning 12 seasons in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
