Show your Michigan pride! During your travels around the world or around the block, don your Maize and Blue or Block M and snap a photo. Then email it to [email protected]. Include the graduate years for all alumni appearing in the photo and a description of the location. Due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot guarantee your photo will appear in the print magazine; however, all submitted photos appear on the Michigan Alumnus website. By submitting your photo, you agree that the Alumni Association may also use it in its marketing materials. We publish only those photos submitted by Alumni Association members.

David DeMuro, ’71, traveled more than 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle to visit the Cathedral of the Northern Lights in Alta, Norway.

William L. Diefenbach, ’72, (center, in white pants) celebrated his 70th birthday with his daughter, Christina (left of William), and 120 friends aboard the historic USS Potomac presidential yacht in San Francisco Bay. The U-M flag above them was one of three raised on the ship that day.

David, ’66, JD’69, and Pamela Haron, ’69, visited sculptor Imre Varga’s memorial statue of Raoul Wallenberg, ’35, in Budapest, Hungary, last year.

Lori Jackson-Imhof, ’80, and her husband, Martin, enjoyed the spectacular architecture in Zadar, Croatia, while celebrating their 31st anniversary on a Mediterranean cruise.

Dennis J. Jacobs, PhD’83, and Gregory Smith, ’66, paid respects to the Allied soldiers of D-Day at the Omaha Beach Memorial in in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, Normandy, France.

Mark A. Kellman, ’75, JD’78, and his wife, April, showed the Maize and Blue to the wildlife of Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Michael Lamping, ’80, and his wife, Vernetta, stopped at a boundary marker as they trekked the ancient Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in Spain.

A few clouds did not darken the spirit of Drew Montag, ’78, MSI’04, during a trip to Denali National Park in Alaska.

Giovanni, MHSA’17, and Ashley Pisacreta spent part of their honeymoon on the trails of Franz Josef Glacier in Westland Tai Poutini National Park, New Zealand.

Richard Roland, ’84, MD’89, volunteered as a physician for the MedGlobal/OBAT Helpers clinic of Camp 4, a Rohingya refugee site in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. He urges everyone to remember the plight of those displaced from Myanmar.

Paul Rzeznik, ’92, and his son, Cody, ’11, visited the Roman Colosseum in October 2019.

Joseph, ’96, JD’01, MBA’01, and Stacy Giles, ’95, and their children, Justin and Alex, experienced a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah.

Sarah Sherber, ’83, stays warm in Maize and Blue as she takes in the icy vistas of Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina.

On a brilliant day, Judith and Scott Miller, ’77, visit Machu Picchu in Peru.

Mark Somerville, ’91, competed for Team USA at the ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland. In his age group, Mark was the fastest American and 12th in the world. The race consisted of a 10K run, 150K bike, and another 30K run.

Hendrik Adams Vanderkaay—son of Alex, ’08, MSE’10, and Elizabeth Dukes, ’08—is all smiles in his Wolverine football gear.

Barry Waldman, ’93, verified that Italy’s Tower of Pisa definitely leans with his wife, Elain, children David and Rebecca, and father-in-law Leslie. The family drove across Italy, France, and England proudly displaying the Maize and Blue.
