Join in the fun on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the 2019 Alumni Territory Go Blue Homecoming Tailgate, featuring the Michigan Marching Band, the cheerleading team, delicious food, and games. A limited number of tickets are still available at the door, which opens at 9 a.m. at the Indoor Training Center (formerly the Indoor Track Building). Members pay $60 at the door; nonmembers pay $75. The event ends at noon when the Michigan Wolverines will face off against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big House.

Read 10 reasons why you should not miss the tailgate this year:

  1. Doors will open at the Indoor Training Center bright and early at 9 a.m. to ensure plenty of time before kickoff to enjoy all the offerings.
  2. Culinary treats will include everything from breakfast (a Kellogg cereal bar, fruit, and pastries) to lunch (hot dogs, sliders, mac and cheese, and street tacos from Qdoba) as well as desserts (Maize and Blue cupcakes and a candy stand).
  3. This year’s tailgate will be 100 percent sustainable with a goal of zero waste and all cups, plates, and cutlery compostable.
  4. U-M President Mark Schlissel will attend the tailgate along with Debasish Dutta, the new chancellor of UM-Flint, and Domenico Grasso, the new chancellor of UM-Dearborn.
  5. The sports bar will feature North Peak beer from the Michigan-based brewery started by lifelong friends and alumni Jon Carlson, ’93, and Greg Lobdell, ’94, MARCH’98.
  6. A dedicated kid’s recreation zone, will offer a bouncy house, football toss game, and rock climbing wall.
  7. If you have never tried fowling, cornhole, or golfing into a net, you will have a chance to experience all three at the tailgate.
  8. Gerty, a vintage photo booth, will be on site, allowing guests to choose from an array of backgrounds for snaps with friends and family.
  9. U-M cheerleaders will get you in the spirit when they rev up the crowd by performing on stage.
  10. The Michigan Marching Band will play your favorite college songs before leading you to the stadium for kickoff.
