Yes, membership dues are tax-deductible! You will receive a receipt once your purchase is complete. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
Your membership dues fund vital alumni and student programs, including the Michigan Alum magazine, career resources, regional clubs, and more. Membership also connects you to our global alumni network and provides access to lifelong resources, discounts, and experiences designed to support U-M alumni.
Annual and 5-Year Memberships must be paid in full. Life Memberships offer flexible payment options: pay in full or in five quarterly payments. A credit card is required for the quarterly payments and will be charged the same day each quarter as the original purchase.
For students, Annual and 4-Year Memberships must be paid in full. Life Membership can be paid: in full, in four annual payments, or monthly (the number of payments depends on your class year).
Digital membership cards are sent within one week of purchase. If you would like to request a physical card, please contact us.
Exclusive gifts (fleece jackets, hoodies, journals, or other promotional items) are shipped directly from the vendor within 8-10 weeks of purchase.
A Joint Membership is available for two adults (both 18 years or older) who reside at the same mailing address. To add a Joint Member to your current membership, please contact us.
Student Life Memberships can be purchased by the student or given as a gift. Memberships can only be activated by current U-M students who are not in their final semester prior to graduation. For example, a student graduating in May may activate a Life Membership at the student rate only through the preceding December.
A discounted Life Membership rate of $449 is available for Pell Grant-eligible students. If you or your student currently receives a Pell Grant, you are eligible to receive this discounted price. Please note that this discount can’t be combined with other offers.
No, membership is available to anyone age 18 or older.
You may cancel your membership by contacting us. Alumni Association memberships are not refundable, as they are tax-deductible gifts and are receipted as such. No refunds will be issued for any reason if a membership is canceled.
