A University of Michigan study looked at how sepsis affects people who were previously healthy. Led by Drs. Rachel Hechtman and Hallie Prescott, the project analyzed data from more than 25,000 patients across Michigan to understand why some individuals are more susceptible. The research points to possible risk factors and highlights opportunities for earlier intervention to improve survival.
