University of Michigan engineers are exploring a new way to guide energy at the smallest scales, using particles of light and matter known as excitons. Their work could lay the foundation for future technologies that move information faster and with far less energy than today’s electronics. The research points toward possibilities that may one day transform how our devices are powered and connected.
