University of Michigan engineers are leading a new $9 million federal project to push the limits of quantum sensor networks. Led by Professor Zheshen Zhang, the five-year effort will harness quantum entanglement to boost measurement precision, with potential applications in atomic clocks, GPS-free navigation, and advanced sensing. With new lab testbeds coming online, the work puts U-M at the forefront of next-generation quantum networking.
