A University of Michigan-led study highlights the potential of recycled pacemakers to address the shortage of life-saving cardiac care in low-resource countries. The “My Heart Your Heart” program, which involves a clinical trial with nearly 300 participants across seven countries, suggests that reconditioned pacemakers can perform as well as new ones, offering a promising solution for patients who can’t afford treatment.
