A University of Michigan research team is leading efforts to advance robotics and automation in the construction industry. Backed by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the project, led by civil and environmental engineering professors Carol Menassa and Vineet Kamat, aims to improve safety and efficiency on job sites by developing robots that support workers and handle repetitive tasks. With access to a full-scale robotics lab, U-M’s CEE department is positioning itself as a national leader in both on-site and prefabricated construction automation.
