While navigating canceled and postponed seasons, professional sports teams adapted to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic by shifting their community outreach efforts to support individuals and businesses directly impacted by the crisis. Researchers from the U-M School of Kinesiology used the pandemic as a “natural experiment” to explore how sport organizations might respond to disruptions in their regular operations.
