Unlike modern and colonial design approaches, Anishinaabe building practices and worldviews challenge conventional ideas of objects and buildings as fixed or permanent. Instead, they view them as fluid and ever-changing. At this Johe Architecture Lecture Series event, featured speaker Christian Hart Nakarado will explore the Traditional Ecological Knowledge systems of the Great Lakes region and how they have influenced projects designed and built in northern hardwood forests over the past five years.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
