Clements Library as they continue the Clements Bookworm series on Friday, June 20, featuring an author conversation with Susanna Ashton and highlighting her book, “A Plausible Man: The True Story of the Escaped Slave Who Inspired Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Ashton will explore the journey of John Andrew Jackson, including the evening that Harriet Beecher Stowe sheltered him and his rise as an international abolitionist, uncovering his story through a historical detective lens.
