The University of Michigan is involved in a research project supported by a $30 million grant from the Marcus Foundation, with $19 million directed toward their work. The focus of the project is on developing advanced brain-computer interface technology to help restore speech in individuals affected by conditions like stroke-related aphasia. The team is working on small, wireless devices designed to safely record and transmit brain signals.
