Did you know that the first-ever photograph of the Earth was taken from a rocket in 1946? In “Rocket Science 101,” a new course series from Michigan Online, learners will explore the history of rocketry across the globe, how orbits work, rocket engine functions, and the benefits of space missions. Faculty expert Dr. Aaron Ridley takes a deeper look at how Hollywood depicts space travel and the things it gets right and wrong about rocket science.

This course is free for U-M alumni, students, faculty, and staff.
