As wireless technology evolves beyond 5G into NextG, University of Michigan researchers have developed a scalable antenna design that could enable the ultra-fast, high-capacity connections future systems will require. Doctoral student Aditya Varma Muppala and Professor Kamal Sarabandi have created a low-cost, highly scalable antenna that operates across a wide range of frequencies used in high-speed wireless systems. By blending classic engineering principles with modern design techniques, this innovation could lead to faster, more reliable wireless connections in a compact form.
