When Voyager 2 flew by the distant planet in 1986, scientists noticed that it seemed to trap energized particles of plasma, the electrically conductive gas covering our solar system, unlike any other planet orbiting our sun. But a new analysis of the data suggests that view may be biased by unusual circumstances.
