He once climbed on a train’s roof, handing protective passes to Jews heading to camps. Swedish-born, Wallenberg is an honorary citizen of the U.S., Canada, Hungary, and Israel, Numerous parks, monuments, and stamps honor him throughout the world; schools and streets are named for him.
