Are 988 and Other Mental Health Crisis Lines Missing People Over 50?

A new U-M poll found that nearly one-third of adults over 50 have never heard of a mental health crisis line. Awareness gaps were especially pronounced among men and Hispanic adults, both groups with high or rising suicide rates. Researchers say increasing awareness could help more older adults access potentially lifesaving support when they need it most.
