New Algorithmic Tool Enables to Scientists to See Cells “Talk” to One Another

Cells are constantly exchanging signals, but tracing those conversations has long been one of biology’s biggest challenges. A University of Michigan team has developed a tool called CytoSignal that can pinpoint who is “talking” to whom with far greater precision than before. The clearer those cellular conversations become, the more opportunities researchers may uncover in places they weren’t even looking.
