Created for the 250th anniversary of American democracy, this video introduces U.S. at 250, a campus-wide effort led by the Initiative for Democracy and Civic Engagement, the Clements Library, and the Arts Initiative. The project invites the University of Michigan community to reflect on the nation’s history while imagining the role universities can play in shaping a more thoughtful, inclusive democratic future. In the video, students, faculty, and staff share perspectives, research, and ideas that explore democracy, civic life, and the power of dialogue across disciplines, classrooms, and public spaces.
