During the shipbuilding process, pipes, cables and equipment don’t always arrive in sequence, and tight schedules can push construction off course from the original design. Researchers at the University of Michigan are developing autonomous robots and AI models to help shipyard workers spot discrepancies earlier and keep projects moving efficiently.
