The Trump administration’s restructuring of the federal government included the elimination of several agencies and the dismissal of hundreds of thousands of federal employees, including 20 presidentially appointed inspectors general. Inspectors general are responsible for auditing agencies to identify fraud, waste, and mismanagement.
