University of Michigan engineers are taking a big step toward making wave energy practical. They’ve created the first open-source playbook for building small wave energy devices and tested two working prototypes with partners at Cornell, Georgia Tech, and Princeton. The goal: make it easier to tap into one of the ocean’s most powerful and reliable energy sources.
