An Upgrade to U-M Developed Tech Enables Researchers To See Even Finer Transcription Detail Inside Cells

University of Michigan researchers have sharpened a powerful gene-mapping tool to see even deeper inside cells. Originally developed in 2021, Seq-Scope maps gene activity within intact tissue at microscopic resolution using an Illumina sequencer. Now, under the leadership of Jun Hee Lee, the team has pushed the technology beyond previous physical limits, opening the door to even more detailed views of how cells function.
