Concern over the state of democracy in the U.S. is at an all-time high. Even so, new data from the Michigan Public Policy Survey suggests that local democracy is holding strong. In this research spotlight from the Ford School, experts from the U-M Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy walk through how local officials say democracy is working in their communities and discuss why local government may be an important place to rebuild trust between leaders and residents.
