University of Michigan researchers have created a machine learning model that lets patients receive feedback on balance exercises at home using just four wearable sensors. Professors Kathleen Sienko and Leia Stirling trained the model to predict how a physical therapist would rate a patient’s performance. The project combines engineering, robotics, and health science to make rehabilitation more accessible. Read the full article to learn how the team plans to bring AI-assisted balance training into homes worldwide.
