A longtime fixture on Ingalls Mall, Sunday Morning in Deep Waters has become both a work of art and a U-M campus tradition. Created in the 1940s by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles and commissioned as a memorial, the bronze fountain has witnessed generations of students marking milestones through its waters. After decades of weathering, it was carefully restored in 2018 to preserve its legacy for future Wolverines.
