A new study on lung transplants, led by Dr. Michael Combs at Michigan Medicine, shows that taking tacrolimus twice a day is more effective than cyclosporine in preventing complications after surgery. Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressant that helps prevent organ rejection by suppressing the immune system.
