Over a third of Detroit residents (36%) struggle to get from place to place safely or on time. Concerned by this, Alexandra Murphy, an assistant research scientist at U-M’s Poverty Solutions, is developing a new tool called the Transportation Security Index (TSI) to help local governments plan transportation investments.
