Making friends can be intimidating, especially for introverts. A new U-M study of mice explores the brain processes behind nonsexual social approach and contact, suggesting just how difficult and complex it can be to introduce yourself to someone else. Hiro Arakawa, Ph.D., an assistant research scientist in the Department of Pharmacology, discusses the different neurocircuits underlying behaviors and shares key findings from the study.
