What can be done to help more children make friends, and how can parents support their children? According to U-M Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health, nearly one in five parents say their child ages six to 12 has no friends or not enough friends. Sarah Clark, M.P.H, Mott poll co-director, discusses the process for making friends and how to encourage children to make friends along the way.
