According to the National Poll on Healthy Aging, cannabis use is increasing in older adults, and they’ve been using it in all different forms within the last year. With cannabis being legalized in almost 38 states, the usage is likely to grow, but there can be some associated risks, such as when to use it and the amount. Erin E. Bonar, Ph.D., a U-M addiction psychologist, discusses the importance of discussing cannabis use with healthcare providers and more public awareness efforts.
