The inappropriate use of antibiotics is a challenge medical providers and health policy advocates have long been navigating, but a lack of detailed record-keeping in clinics and emergency departments may be getting in the way, a new study from U-M physicians suggests. Lead author Joseph Ladines-Lim, M.D., Ph.D., comments on what the findings illuminate about health inequity, and what actions need to be taken to further the effort to reduce antibiotic overuse in this article from the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.
