Are active shooter drills having the impact in schools as we would have hoped? A new national effort to understand how active shooter drills may affect the health and well-being of K12 students and school staff begins this week. Justin Heinze, co-director of U-M’s National Center for School Safety, is eager to provide schools and the public with a deeper understanding of the effects of a now-normal part of going to school in America.
