Show your Michigan pride! During your travels around the world or around the block, don your Maize and Blue or Block M and snap a photo. Then email it to [email protected]. Include the graduate years for all alumni appearing in the photo and a description of the location. Due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot guarantee your photo will appear in the print magazine; however, all submitted photos appear on the Michigan Alumnus website. By submitting your photo, you agree that the Alumni Association may also use it in its marketing materials. We publish only those photos submitted by Alumni Association members.

Paul S. Christie, DDS’76, and Nancy Erickson Christie, ’74, took a hike to the western islands of Scotland.

Julie Dobrusin, MHSA’17, proudly wore her Michigan shirt as she volunteered at Sociedad Amigos de los Niños (SAN), an orphanage in Honduras, during a service trip. One afternoon, she noticed one of the boys was sporting an Ohio State University cap. She connected with him by explaining the storied rivalry between the schools. Founded in 1966, SAN provides care for children and, at times, their mothers in an otherwise desolate population with few options. For more information, visit www.virtuinc.org.

Richard Eisenberg, ’66, and his wife, Patricia, hiked the trails above Cinque Terre along the Ligurian coast of Italy.

The Wolverine pride of newlyweds Jerod Michael Ryan, ’02, and Lisa Fetman, ’07, took them to new heights over the Haleakalā volcano during their honeymoon in Hawaii.

The Harris family—Tiffany, ’00, MSN’02, Andrew, ’00, and their kids—took their alumni spirit 6,000 feet above sea level at Zion National Park in Utah.

Jeff Hartgen, ’91, chilled out with a sea lion on the Galápagos Islands.

In May, David J. Neuman, ’70, visited the Chefchaouen, the “Blue City,” in Morocco.

In Liverpool, England, statues dedicated to the Beatles provided a perfect backdrop for sisters Samantha, Marti, and Toni Newell, ’99.

It can get frigid on Baffin Island in Canada, but nothing would stop Andrea Fischer Newman, ’79, from flying the U-M flag.

Dotun Oyedijo, ’92, MD’95, and his sons, Ryan and Andrew, enjoyed the summer sun in Nerano, Italy.

Barbara Ann Page, ’69, MD’73, was delighted to meet two humpback whales down in Antarctica.

Shivam Parikh, ’05, wore his Michigan hat as he ran six major marathons across the world: New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Chicago, London, and Boston.

A little Niagara Falls mist couldn’t dampen the Maize and Blue spirit of Meghann Raker, ’14.

This past summer, Lisa Harrell Randon, ’92, MD’96, represented U-M at the Corktown Block Party in downtown Detroit with her daughter, current junior Peggy, and son, Daniel.

Ron Ristau, ’76, took in the beauty of the landscape on the road between Queenstown and Glenorchy on the South Island of New Zealand.

Siblings Dana Rochelle Lee, ’03, and Kevin M. Lee, ’06, represented the University of Michigan during a trip to Sydney.

Fred, ’71, MSE’72, and Sue Schriever, ’72, visited the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park near Astoria, Oregon. The trip was particularly meaningful as it marked their 280th visit to a national park and their 50th state.

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, Nancy, ’75, and Neal Stephenson, ’76, visited many World War II sites during their journey through multiple countries in Europe. Pictured is a church near the Old Town Square in Warsaw, Poland.

Jeff Taylor, ’00, was spotlighted as “Teacher of the Game” at the last Wolverine basketball home of the 2018-19 season—a game that turned out to be head coach John Beilein's last game at Crisler Center. Jeff is in his 20th year teaching, all in the Ann Arbor Public School, and has coached over 75 youth sport teams. He is a middle school science teacher at Clague Middle School.

Kate Vogel, ’18, and her mother, Lisa, ’90, hailed to the victors in Dubrovnik, Croatia, during a recent trip.

Meredith Weingarden, ’91, her husband, Adam, and their daughter, Emilie, showed off their U-M flag in front of the Royal Palace in Oslo, Norway, in August. Missing from the picture is her son, Noah, who is a current U-M student.

Rob, JD’06, and Jayne Melton, ’10, held their wedding reception at the Graeme Park state historic site, featuring a 19th-century barn and a 21st-century U-M flag, in August in Horsham, Penn.
