Alumni club leaders from around the globe arrived in Ann Arbor recently for the first International Club Leadership Meeting. For three days in September, more than 15 club leaders spent time with faculty and staff on campus, and shared their experiences and ideas surrounding international alumni club leadership.
During their time on campus, participants were able to meet other international club leaders in an afternoon-long workshop where the group discussed club growth and transformation, communication tactics, and best practices. The Alumni Association, in partnership with the Office of University Development, helped to drive these conversations between the club leaders, and unveiled plans for new and improved club management tools that will be rolling out early next year.
The group also had the opportunity to tour the Big House, as well as Mcity, the University’s urban-style autonomous driving test facility. And no trip to Ann Arbor would be complete without a tailgate and Michigan football game!
This year’s group consisted of leaders from Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, London, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Toronto. These individuals were invited by special invitation after exhibiting exemplary leadership abilities, club growth and activity, and continued U-M spirit.
