U M Research Finds Chinas One Child Policy Boosted Female Entrepreneurship

China’s historic one-child policy, initially implemented to curb population growth, led to an unexpected economic outcome: a 40% increase in female entrepreneurship. With fewer family obligations, women had more time to focus on self-employment.
