Tweeted Metaphors Shape Views About Immigration

The language we use on social media is crucial, especially when addressing political issues. A team of researchers from U-M analyzed immigration-related tweets from two political parties and found that dehumanizing metaphors used by authors led to increased support for harsh immigration policies.
