New research from the U-M Medical School may explain why common antioxidant treatments have failed against inflammatory bowel disease. Led by Dr. Yatrik Shah, the team identified a link between a specific type of cell death and chronic gut inflammation. Using patient samples, they explored a more targeted approach—one that could lead to more effective therapies for Crohn’s and colitis.
