HIV Risk Decreases in Transgender Individuals Receiving Hormone Therapy, Study Shows

Transgender communities have been disproportionately affected by the HIV epidemic. U-M researchers have addressed a gap in the literature regarding the physical effects of HIV and hormone therapy. Their study reveals that transgender individuals receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy have a 37% lower chance of acquiring HIV.
