A new study led by Michigan Medicine found that stroke survivors who have attended some level of higher education may face steeper mental declines than those who haven’t. Deborah A. Levine, M.D., M.P.H., a professor of internal medicine and neurology at U-M Medical School and the senior author of the study, suggests that the results may help doctors identify which stroke patients are most at risk and potential interventions to slow cognitive decline.
