H3D Detectors Arrive at the International Space Station

A space mission led by U-M alumnus Daniel Shy is taking Michigan-made technology to new heights. Gamma-ray detectors from H3D, Inc., a startup founded by U-M researchers, were launched to the International Space Station to test their durability and imaging capabilities in orbit. With 21 Michigan Engineering alumni on its team, H3D is advancing space research and technology developed in Ann Arbor.
