The second Conference on Foundation Models and AI Agents for Science (SciFM25), hosted by the Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery & Engineering (MICDE), brought together over 500 experts to talk about how generative AI is changing the way science is done. They discussed how AI works, how it’s being used now, and where it’s headed, especially with new types of AI that can act more independently. The conference highlighted how AI tools are helping scientists across many fields work faster, ask better questions, and discover new things.
