Understand the root causes of racial health disparities in “Structural Racism: Causes of Health Inequities in the U.S.,” a new online course from Michigan Online. Learners will unpack the history of race, racism, and white supremacy to understand why health disparities exist and the steps needed to eliminate them. After this course, learners will be able to describe the impact of structural racism on individuals, identify policies and events that shaped current racial health inequities, apply public writing strategies to advocate and work against racial inequities in health, and more. This course is free for U-M alumni, students, faculty, and staff.
