Millions of older Americans with obesity may be eligible for assistance paying for expensive weight loss medications to reduce their high risk of heart problems. A team of Michigan Medicine researchers hope to define what cardiovascular risk level should make someone eligible for such coverage, how many people could become eligible, and what it might cost the nation.
