A new study, led by researchers at Michigan Engineering and the U-M Department of Anthropology, reveals that sunscreen, specially designed clothing, and the use of caves for shelter likely helped ancient Homo sapiens over 40,000 years ago during the shifting of the magnetic North Pole over Europe.
