Loneliness and Isolation: Back to Pre-Pandemic Levels, but Still High, for Older Adults

Although rates of loneliness and isolation among older adults have returned to pre-pandemic levels, more than one-third still report feeling lonely, with nearly as many feeling isolated. Survey data from the U-M National Poll on Healthy Aging reveals that up to 75% of adults aged 50-80 self-report fair to poor mental health.
