Cerebral Palsy Medications Given to Adults May Not Match Needs

New research from Michigan Medicine reveals that adults with cerebral palsy are often prescribed medications that may not match their specific pain type. Led by Mark Peterson, the study found that those with mixed pain types were more likely to receive opioids and muscle relaxants, but fewer received physical or occupational therapy. Peterson highlights the need for better screening tools and is working to create clinical guidelines for treating pain in adults with cerebral palsy.
